How much is the workshop?

Our workshops are priced at $65/pax, with a minimum of 10 pax required to start a session. Alternatively, if the minimum number of pax is not met, your organisation may pay $650 to start a session. For $65/pax, the following is provided:

Artribe

What is Artribe?

Artribe is a circular empowerment programme for vulnerable seniors in our community. With Artribe, we aim to create a sustainable circular programme that empowers and enriches senior citizen's lives through art. This initiative also doubles up as a seniors' befriending programme. Artribe is a platform to learn and bond. It all started with Artify Studio's wish to give back by using craft to build a community, starting with the senior citizens in our neighbourhood. Today, seniors in Artribe pick up art skills which are taught by our volunteer instructors. As these seniors learn more, they are given the chance to become Senior Guids to teach newcomers. The goal is also for seniors to conduct their own classes, share the skills that they have learnt and to reach other groups of people. When these Senior Guides groom and team new members of Artribe, the cycle of good continues! Our ultimate goal for Artribe-seniors is to have a tribe in each Senior Activity Centre in Singapore where the programme is self-running by the Senior Guides. With more funds, more people can join Artribe and our impact can spread. Artribe is not limited to only senior citizens. We want to expand to other groups such as youth-at-risk.

Why must 20% of the fees fund Artribe? Can I opt out and pay less?

By supporting us, you are also supporting our local initiative which supports and empowers the seniors in our community. 20% of all corporate activities are used to fund the work we do for Artribe. Initial funding from Artify Studio helped kick off the Artribe initiative to date, but we need a sustainable way to keep the programmes going. The goal beyond 2021 is for Artribe to evolve into a truly sustainable initiative — one that is for the community, from the community. By joining our workshops, you are helping to grow Artribe's efforts and helping those within.

How else can my company help Artribe?

How many people has benefitted from Artribe?

Since 2019, we have impacted more than 50 seniors through Artribe and watercolour sessions conducted by Artribe seniors at the Senior Activity Centres. First Tribe (2019) A social initiative by Artify Studio, Artribe was set-up in 2019. Our first tribe started with 12 seniors from a Senior Activity Centre in our neighbourhood. They went through painting sessions for a year at our studio where our instructor taught them how to paint using acrylic paint, watercolour and oil pastels. Through the programme, they learnt the foundation of different art media and basic painting skills. During the initial stage, confidence was low amongst the seniors and they carried the mindset that they could not paint/were not talented. After months of practice and making art together, they created impressive artworks and gradually became open about sharing their ideas. Equipped with new skills and confidence, the seniors have even stepped up to guiding their own peers in acrylic/watercolour painting. In April 2021, the Senior Activity Centre started watercolour painting sessions with a new batch of seniors where some of our own Artribe seniors were there to guide the beginners. We are extremely proud of our first tribe- they've come a long way since 2019 and their dedication to learn has inspired us to keep doing what Artribe was set to do. Second Tribe (2020) Our second tribe came about during the Circuit Breaker period. We had 25 seniors from a Senior Activity Centre in Geylang Bahru and 6 instructors conducting 1-on-1 watercolour weekly online sessions with seniors. As the nation was on lockdown, the seniors were unable to go about with their daily routines. They could not stay connected with their community and were not able to remain both physically and mentally active. What first started as a random WhatsApp video call to check-in on the seniors' wellbeing soon transpired into starting the second batch of art classes. We decided to use online watercolour sessions as a solution to replace the absence of physical interaction. Third Tribe (2021) Our third batch of 10 seniors were 'recruited' in May 2021 and have started their 8-week online watercolour sessions with our new batch of volunteer instructors. In March 2021, we did our first recruitment call for volunteers to lead the sessions and were touched by the overwhelming response! We have since met up with the volunteers for a sharing session and passed them their own watercolour kit + teaching materials. Follow our Instagram to see our seniors' progress!
