Our Impact
Our heartfelt gratitude to our Artribe community and partners!
We are heartened to share more about some of the work that Artribe has done in recent years. We are so grateful for the opportunity to have been able to done so, and are very thankful to our dedicated support of our team, volunteers and community members who have helped make this possible. Thank you for helping us to make a difference and we hope to continue to do what we do with your kind and invaluable support!

Art for the Community
"To create a sustainable circular empowerment programme starting with the seniors in our neighbourhood."
Since July 2019, Artify Studio started Artribe in its space nestled in Textile Centre. Starting with the seniors from a Senior Activity Centre in our neighbourhood, we have built a small group of lovely and conscientious individuals who are passionate about learning.
We introduced them to acrylic painting initially and they have since picked up painting skills for watercolour and chalk pastel. With regular check-ins and sessions, especially during this ever-changing COVID-19 situation, our seniors have made rapid progress through lessons via video calls.
We plan to continue building their confidence and gradually ease them into guiding others to do art as well.
Artribe: Our Work So Far
May 2019 – Present

700+ Hours
spent "recruiting" seniors, organising art sessions, planning, coordinating, packing, and teaching since its inception in 2019.
In 2020, during the Circuit Breaker period of COVID-19, we unlocked a new achievement! We pivoted to online classes and taught the seniors how to use video call for the online sessions.
In 2021, we've formed our third and fourth tribe!

packaged & sent to seniors.
Materials:
watercolour, palette, canvas, paper, reference images, art tools (i.e. brushes, palette knives, pencils, erasers, tape)

351 Sessions
conducted within Artify Studio for seniors to learn & meet regularly as a hobby group.
Since May 2020, all sessions have moved online due to COVID-19.

60 Seniors
reached & impacted — made new friends and picked up new skills.

The 8-week watercolour programme for the fourth tribe ended in early 2022.

We are currently working on a new project for 2023 and can't wait to share it with the public when it's ready!

My dad... who recently fell into depression after mum passed on, found himself able to sleep better at night. I'm really thankful for this programme.
Artribe member's son

I like to paint... now (with the ongoing COVID situation) nothing to do at home, then I just keep painting. Very fun. My sister also want to learn.
Artribe member, Mdm K

M is so much happier now after discovering painting... she volunteers regularly now and actually has something to share with others — she now tells people that she's a painter!
