Our second tribe came about during the Circuit Breaker period. We had 25 seniors from a Senior Activity Centre in Geylang Bahru and 6 instructors conducting 1-on-1 watercolour weekly online sessions with the seniors.
As the nation was on lockdown, the seniors were unable to go about with their daily routines. They could not stay connected with their community and were not able to remain both physically and mentally active. The elderly tend to be more motivated to take part in an activity when someone else is doing it with them which is how the second tribe came about. We decided to use online watercolour sessions as a solution to replace the absence of physical interaction.
